SBRAGIA FAMILY VINEYARDS
SONOMA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
The family tradition of winemaking in California’s famous wine country regions is celebrated at Sbragia Family Vineyards. The Sbragia history in Dry Creek Valley dates back to 1904 when their grandfather moved from Tuscany and worked in many wineries including the historic Italian Swiss Colony. In the 1950s their father Gino Sbragia re-planted the fields on their property to wine grapes, mainly Zinfandel. Ed Sbragia moved to Napa Valley where he spent 32 years as the Winemaster at Beringer Vineyards and developed a reputation as a world-class winemaker.
Ed found great success winning Wine Spectator’s Wine of the Year award twice, to this day he is the only winemaker to wine for a white and red wine. His heart remaining in Sonoma County, he moved back home to fulfill his father’s dream of opening a family winery. Sbragia opened its doors in 2006 with son and winemaker Adam Sbragia. Winemaking for over a decade, Adam has found the perfect balance of honouring how Gino and Ed made wine and putting his own stylistic stamp on the bottle.
