At the centre of Altanza’s identity lies the Valvarés Estate, a remarkable 200-hectare property that serves as both vineyard and living ecosystem. Here, ten distinct vineyard parcels unfold across varying elevations, exposures, and soil compositions, creating a rich mosaic of terroirs. Clay, limestone, and saline soils contribute complexity and character, while Rioja Alta’s unique climate allows the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly, preserving freshness alongside concentration.
Tempranillo is the heart and soul of Altanza.
