TENUTE SAN SISTO
MARCHE, ITALY

Tenute San Sisto

Rooted in History, Raised by the Land

Nestled in the gently rolling hills of Castelli di Jesi in Italy’s Marche region, Tenute San Sisto is more than a winery—it's a living testament to centuries of tradition, devotion, and terroir-driven excellence.

At the heart of the estate stands a centuries-old monastery and church dating back to 1199, once under the care of the Abbey of Sant’Elena sull’Esino. Restored in the 18th and 19th centuries with the inscription “Fide et amor restauravit” (“faith and love restored”), this timeless structure remains the spiritual soul of the winery, embodying the passion and authenticity that define every bottle.

A Singular Focus on Verdicchio Excellence

Established as an independent project in 2015, Tenute San Sisto was born from a desire to highlight the unique expression of Verdicchio—the iconic white varietal of the Marche. The estate champions two cru-level vineyards:

San Sisto Cru: Facing north-northeast at 250–350 meters, this vineyard is blessed with limestone-rich clay soils and a cool microclimate—perfect for creating mineral-driven, age-worthy Verdicchio.

Maiolati Cru (Massaccio): Planted in 1967 and renewed in 2005, this high-altitude, amphitheater-shaped vineyard at 400 meters yields structured, aromatic wines with unmistakable depth.

Signature Wines

Each wine from Tenute San Sisto reflects the character of its vineyard and the meticulous craft behind its creation.

Tenute San Sisto is driven by a deep respect for its land and heritage. Harvesting is done by hand. Each cru is vinified separately to preserve its identity. Wines are aged slowly in large barrels to develop elegance, complexity, and longevity.

Here, tradition meets modern precision, allowing nature to speak through each glass.
