LCBO - Vignerons des Pierres Dorees La Rose Pourpre 2022
France, Burgundy
Regular price $17.95 (Single Bottle)Description
Deep purple-garnet robe, of very good intensity, clear, bright with lively violet reflections. The nose is very open, expressive, of great intensity, blending small wild black fruits (blueberry, blackberry) to unfold into spicy notes (white pepper) and even licorice, with a floral finish (peony); a lot of finesse and elegance. The palate lives up to the complexity of the nose with a full-bodied attack, round and silky tannins endowed with great finesse; it evolves on a beautiful spicy aromatic palette blending small black fruits and floral notes, licorice, with a peppery finish; the overall texture is rich, with a nice balance of sweetness and acidity, a beautiful freshness, giving it a very good length.
REVIEW
Rated 90, Wine Enthusiast, April 1, 2024
"A smile-inducing wine that is deep purple in color, it's a vortex of black fruit that begins with boysenberry, black raspberry and blackberry and decrescendos into dried hay, young cedar and Darjeeling tea. Black fruit is joined by orange citrus peel, Alpine strawberry and just-ripened red cherry on the palate and completes with a finish that is mulled-wine reminiscent."
